Dane County, City of Madison “Pool” Budget Dollars to Install Network of Clean Beach Treatment Systems at Madison Beaches in Coming Years

Dane County residents age 55+ are invited to enter their photos for a chance to win up to $75.

All entries will be exhibited at MSC for Gallery Night on October 4th, and remain on exhibit until November 1st. Gallery Night is a community arts celebration sponsored by MMoCA. Judges will offer comments on submitted photos.

Did you know that coloring is a creative and stress reducing activity? Whether you are an experienced “colorer,” or eager to try it out for the first time, this series is for you. Artist and Professor Heather Schatz will lead the group in a combination of coloring activities designed to stimulate your creativity and reduce anxiety. Coloring sheets and art supplies will be provided. Free, but registration by calling the MSC at 608-266-6581 required.

MMOCA Museum Tour – Jeffrey Gibson: Like a Hammer

Jeffrey Gibson’s art includes Native American themes, combined with influences from contemporary European, American, and Asian art. The exhibition is colorful and accessible, and has been received with enthusiasm by visitors to MMoCA.

Southwest Madison Employment Center Grand Opening

The public is invited to the grand opening of Madison’s newest employment center on the City’s west side. The grand opening will include a ribbon cutting and open house, which will begin at 11 a.m. Urban League of Greater Madison will provide a free lunch. Staff will lead tours of the new space and provide information to anyone interested in learning more about resources and training.
